About the Forge Fuel
The Motiv Forge Fuel stokes the flames of the high performance Forge line. Every serious bowler needs a ball they can trust when there is a lot of oil in front of them, and most heavy oil solids force a compromise: you either get a ball that reads early and quits, or one that pushes too far before it sees the lane. The Forge Fuel is built to change that. Like all of Motiv’s high performance equipment, it is made in the U.S.A.
It pairs the proven symmetrical Detonator Core with the new Leverage MXT Solid Reactive coverstock at an aggressive 1000 grit laser-verified finish. The result is what competitive bowlers have been asking for: the confidence and mid lane control of the Subzero Forge, with noticeably more continuation through the pins.
Understanding the Motiv Detonator Core and Motiv Leverage MXT Solid Reactive
Motiv built the Forge Fuel for medium to heavy oil. Specifically, the symmetrical Detonator core has a low RG that gets the ball revving early enough to read in heavy oil and a high .055 differential that creates the flare and traction needed to keep it driving through the pocket, while the new Leverage MXT Solid Reactive cover at a 1000 grit LSS finish is more responsive than the Leverage MXC used on the Subzero Forge. As a result, it gives you a strong, predictable, incredibly stable motion when lane conditions get demanding. The full per-weight specifications are listed below.
The Proven Symmetrical Engine Behind the Forge Line
The proven symmetrical Detonator Core powers the Forge Fuel. This powerful engine features a low RG that gets the ball revving early enough to read in heavy oil, and a high differential that creates the flare and traction needed to keep it driving through the pocket. At 15 lb it measures an RG of 2.47 with a maximum differential of .055, numbers that produce heavy flare and a strong, continuous roll.
The result is a motion that is strong, predictable, and incredibly stable when lane conditions get demanding. Because the Detonator is symmetrical, the Forge Fuel is a smooth, forgiving read rather than a sharp, angular one, which is exactly why it works for such a wide range of styles from speed dominant to rev dominant.
A New Solid Cover With Duramax Technology Built In
The biggest upgrade in the Forge Fuel comes from the new Leverage MXT Solid Reactive coverstock. Engineered to be more responsive than the Leverage MXC cover used on the Subzero Forge, this cover still provides the traction bowlers expect from a true heavy oil solid. It comes right out of the box with an aggressive 1000 grit laser-verified finish.
This new cover features Duramax technology built into the cover, helping it maintain its surface longer, smooth out transition, and create consistent traction shot after shot. The end result is exactly what competitive bowlers have been asking for: the confidence and mid lane control of the Subzero Forge with noticeably more continuation through the pins.

Who This Ball Is Right For
Good to Know Before You Buy
Where It Fits in Your Arsenal
In the Motiv lineup, the Forge Fuel slots between the strongest asymmetrics and the cleaner benchmark pieces. Motiv positions it for moderate to heavy oil for balanced bowlers to use when the Jackal Onyx is too strong or too forward, but the Primal Ghost and the Venoms are too clean. Against its own line, it carries the mid lane control of the Subzero Forge with noticeably more continuation through the pins.
Surface Adjustments
The 1000 grit LSS finish gives the Forge Fuel an aggressive, early read out of the box. Polish it up for easier length and more moderate volume, or take the surface lower for even more bite on the heaviest patterns. Have surface changes done at your pro shop for an even, consistent finish.
Coverstock Care
The Leverage MXT solid cover is an aggressive absorber and pulls oil out of the lane quickly. Wipe the Forge Fuel down after every set and deep clean it periodically. Duramax technology helps the cover hold its surface longer, but regular cleaning is what preserves the consistent traction that defines the ball.
