Description
Storm Monsoon
The Typhoon Gets a Stronger Companion
The Storm Typhoon revived the Hot line with a pearl ball built for lighter conditions. It worked. Bowlers wanted more. The Storm Monsoon answers that call with a solid coverstock version on the same core. It handles more oil volume than the Typhoon while keeping the same Atmos A.I. Core dynamics. Where the Typhoon excels on dry-to-light oil, the Monsoon steps up to medium oil.
The Monsoon wraps the Atmos A.I. Core in Storm’s Reactor Solid coverstock at 2000 Grit Abralon. That combination creates a wider footprint on the lane and earlier midlane read. Storm’s testing shows up to a 5% higher strike percentage on off-pocket hits. The ball also features A.I. outer core technology for a unique RG/Diff combination. Available from 10 lb to 16 lb, this is a mid-performance solid built for the medium oil conditions most bowlers face.
Who This Ball Is Right For
- League bowlers on medium house shots — the Reactor Solid reads the midlane for a controlled arc on typical house patterns
- Typhoon owners who need more traction — same core, stronger coverstock. The Monsoon handles more oil than the Typhoon can
- Bowlers stepping up from Tropical Surge — the Atmos A.I. Core is a meaningful upgrade in flare and midlane read
- Youth bowlers (10 lb and up) — available from 10 lb to 16 lb with the same core design across all weights
- Bowlers who want a solid benchmark at mid-performance pricing — Reactor Solid performance without high-performance cost
- Players who value carry on off-pocket hits — Storm’s testing shows improved strike percentage on imperfect shots
Good to Know Before You Buy
- This is a mid-performance ball — it handles medium oil well but won’t compete with high-performance equipment on heavy volume patterns
- Solid coverstocks absorb oil faster — regular cleaning after every session is essential. Neglected solids lose their reaction quickly
- Not a replacement for the Typhoon — these are companions, not substitutes. The Typhoon covers lighter oil. The Monsoon covers medium
- Moderate total hook — the 0.042 differential keeps the motion controlled. Don’t expect the power of a high-diff asymmetric ball
- Sold undrilled — ships without finger holes; professional fitting recommended
